Matt Sisson, OD, is an experienced optometrist at Optic Gallery Sparks in Sparks, Nevada. Passionate about providing personal, quality patient care, Dr. Sisson truly enjoys building relationships with each one of his patients.
Dr. Sisson was born and raised in eastern Virginia and graduated from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. After spending the next four years in San Diego working in the accounting field, he returned to Virginia in 2006, where he discovered his passion for eye care during a routine visit with his optometrist.
Dr. Sisson’s love for the western United States and aspirations for a career change brought him to the Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon. He received his Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree and was a four-year member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society. He completed internships with the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Reno, Hickam Air Force Base Eye Clinic in Hawaii, as well as surgical clinics in central Oregon.
Upon graduation, Dr. Sisson practiced in Reno with Dr. Al Dufur, before moving to Bend, OR, where he worked in a family eye care practice specializing in vision therapy. However, his love for Reno and the beautiful Sierras brought him back ‘home’ to northern Nevada once again.
In his spare time, Dr. Sisson enjoys traveling, trail running, and backpacking with his wife and two dogs. He also loves playing and listening to music, snowboarding, mountain biking, fly fishing, golf, and finding any other excuse to stay active and outside.
Chen Young, OD, is a skilled optometrist at Optic Gallery Sparks in Sparks, Nevada. He proudly cares for patients of all ages within the community.
A native Nevadan, Dr. Young was raised in Reno and graduated from Reed High School. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Pacific with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He was actively involved in leadership in his fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
Later, Dr. Young attended the Southern California College of Optometry and completed his optometric internship at the Veterans Hospital in North Las Vegas, Nevada, and at the Indian Health Services in Fort Defiance, Arizona.
Dr. Young is an involved member of the community, participating in the Asian Chamber of Commerce and serving as the current Chairman of the Asian Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee. He is also actively involved in his profession. His affiliations include the Nevada Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Governor Brian Sandoval appointed Dr. Young to serve on the Nevada State Board of Optometry. As the current President of the Board, he serves to ensure high professional standards throughout the State.
Dr. Young has three children and has been a sponsor, manager, and Little League coach for many years.
